Mesmerized by both the limitlessness of electronic music, and the looseness of live recordings, Vancouver-based Silk Static describes his work as "humanized computer music", often employing syncopated grooves, off-kilter percussion, and atmospheric backdrops engulfed in texture.


 

A self-proclaimed "anti-purist", he is determined to blur lines between genres and maintain a style which manages to be unpredictable, while still being recognizable. Today, this translates into songs and sets that are multi-dimensional, eclectic, and slyly psychedelic.
